Agents of M.A.G.I.C.: Luke Valderson

"My name is Lucas Valderson; call sign, 'Shades.'

Even in a world where stuff like magic exists, I'm a freak. There's no one like me, an actual psychic. Some confuse what I do with magic, but there's a difference. Magic is energy that is utilized by a select few to change instances of the world around them, like generating fire or changing an object into something else. My mind waves can move stuff around the world, but no magical energy is involved, or any energy for that matter. For some reason, I can project my brain waves in the physical world.

I don't understand why I have this gift, and maybe its better this way. 

My life was terrible since I grew up in an orphanage where I was labeled as a freak by the other children and the caretakers. I was told my parents abandoned me when I was an infant. If they were so careless that they left me because of my GIFT, maybe it's better I don't know them. Now everyone's scared of me because they were so thoughtless that they didn't even think that we could keep my gift to ourselves. 

I was shipped to a border school and stayed there for the remainder until I met a fellow freak like me. That walking pile of hair had formed a group for "special" people. I joined without his knowledge and he still accepted me. I was surprised that he didn't think I'd read his mind like everyone else who knew me. 

For the record, that's a telepath, not a telekinetic. 

Now I have a team that "adopted" me, in a way of speaking. We serve the world with our gifts, despite the labels we've been given. 

So now we stand together. Fellow heroes, fellow freaks..."
